Announcing we will be at Alameda Sunday Jan. 5, News for upcoming 2014

First of all, we will be at Alameda once again Jan. 5th, booths N-2,15. Looks like the unseasonably mild weather will continue through at least this coming show so come on out should be another beautiful day out there. We will have a very nice inventory of new cabinets, coffee tables, etc. Please email me if interested in any pieces shown here, after the Alameda show many will be distributed to the various retail stores in the area that sell my work so I will let you know if still avail. and where. Finally, just want to express my gratitude to all the folks out there that help this happen. The retail folks in SF- Russell at Zonal, Wayne and crew at Therapy, Marty and crew over at Stuff SF. Naomi and Monica and all the ladies down in Aptos at Warmth Co., Rachel and crew at Abode in HMB, and the newest addition, Janet at Inhabiture Home in Palo Alto. All fine establishments with impeccable taste:) Also on the raw material end- I am constantly struggling to find affordable salvage supplies, all the guys at the outside lot at Urban Ore in Berkeley and also Juan and Brandy over at The Reuse People have been amazing to me this past year, THANKYOU! Also I cannot forget all the beautiful people I meet out at Alameda every month, your enthusiasm for my work is inspiring. Special thanks to Howard in the office at Antiques By the Bay and Harvey for keeping us supplied with fresh doughnuts:) Brand new in 2014 is FOUND ON PIEDMONT, a new establishment on piedmont ave in Oakland scheduled for Feb. 1 opening, I will have a very large presence there. I will post more info soon on this. Also new in 2014 will be a completely revamped website with blog and storefront page included where my furniture can be purchased online, shipped throughout the US. Exciting!

Found some shutters from New Orleans at Alameda a couple years ago. Chimney cabinet has the last of these shutters as door. Antique victorian hardware. Reclaimed wood from Builders Resource in SF.

 Found a bunch of obscure glass at Urban Ore recently, very old windows with leaded glass turned lavendar by the sun. The lavendar glass panel in top of door was part of an old factory window I bought quite some time ago at Allemany flea. Very beachy blues and greens in this old wood, salvaged from SF victorian. Nice combination.

Beachy Blues again:) Love this new wood. More of the recent lot from Builders Resource. Shutter from Rockridge remodel I did 14 yrs ago, Yeah I have been holding on to these for awhile:) Great bath cab or??

 

Bought this old hospital gurney at Alameda last year. Top is Maple slab from salvaged industrial workstation.

Douf fir flooring as surface for this coffee table. Legs are welded up from the "T" steel stock that is underneath the bowling alley slabs I use for tables

Great old industrial salvage. Cabinet of polished steel, found at machine shop auction, many layers of grease and paint removed, then steel polished and waxed.

Found the pipe stand base at Urban Ore, part of a very old workbench. Threw away the workbench top and started over:) Polished steel base. Top and drawers of reclaimed VG Doug Fir flooring. Great desk!

Dining Table surface is bowling alley slab. Legs are maple. I bought a truckload of various hardwoods out of an estate sale of a woodworker in Marin. Trim is Oak and Honduras Mahogany.

Found these steel cylinder remnants at Urban Ore, paired them with a large slab of crusty rusty 1/2" steel plate. Love the texture of the steel surface when the rust removed and surface polished.

This coffee table made from reclaimed bench timbers bought at Urban Ore a few years ago. They had many layers of paint on them , I had no idea that the wood underneath was Port Orford Cedar. We ran this thru the planer recently and were pleasantly surprised. Beautiful material.

Another coffee table from the VG fir and bowling Lane steel "T" stock. Polished steel as trim on this one.

Another cabinet using the sun purple glass. One side is smooth and the other is textured. I put the textured side out on this door. Quite a bit of difference in appearance, the photos of the other cabinet using this glass above have the smooth side out. The decorative element on crest is a portion of old tin ceiling tile, cut out to fit. Birds. The elements on the sides are some very nice cast iron push plates found on Ebay, antique, ornate, very cool. Griffins. Lot of bling on this one:)

 Another very cool industrial piece found at machine shop sale. Again, there were so many layers of grease and grime on this could hardly tell what color paint. Alot of work but definitely worth it. Top lifts to reveal cool storage area, has bar to lock open. Would make a great reception piece for restaraunt entry or??

I love these panels, have been saving for awhile. Had them for quite some time before I realized that the sign painter painted over a pair of Coca Cola advertising signs. Repurposing has been around for awhile:) Reclaimed rough sawn doug fir as faceframe, top is repurposed work bench surface. Very nice antique hardware to complete this piece.
