Additional inventory, 8/4/12

Here are photos of a few more pieces to be shown at Alameda Antique fair on Sunday, 8/5. The post below this one shows the rest of our new inventory.First photo, wine rack from old painters ladder, weathered rough sawn doug fir sides. Top is also doug fir.

Next, another wine rack, white side boards salvaged from Marin horse barn. The bottom and top boards are from an old painters plank, 1 1/4 thick vertical grain doug fir.

Kitchen island, base is vintage steel machine base, note the levers that can adjust wheels to retract, clever design. Drawer face is chip carved redwood panel salvaged antique dresser. Top is maple, remnant of bowling alley slab. Trim is honduras mahogany.

New Pieces for August, Alameda on Sunday 8/5

Here are photos of many of the new pieces I will be showing on Sunday August 5 at the Alameda Antique Fair. There are several more pieces that will be completed before Sunday, additional photos will be added Saturday. We will be in our usual spaces, N-15,2.

This one was alot of fun to build. I recently acquired the carved oak feet in a trade with a dealer friend of mine, they were from an antique curved glass curio cabinet. I carefully deconstructed the piece and saved these, original cast iron wheels are included. Beautiful beveled glass windows were recently salvaged from Mill Valley estate, the frames are redwood and the glass is put together with copper instead of lead. Beautiful polished and laquered antique cast iron hardware. Top trim embellishment is nickel plated brass, an old National brand cash register drawer front.

Very nice industrial steel bench from the midwest, cleaned up and laquered.

Wine Rack. I bought the steel object this cabinet is made out of at the Sacto flea several months ago. I have no idea what it was originally, but it has an amazing patina. Wheels were added, then the wine bottle rack was fit to size inside, and then trimmed out. Cabinet body has been laquered. I recently bought these racks from an estate, they were part of a basement wine cellar.

Very nice steel institutional dresser, polished and laquered. I don't see to many of these any more, this one is in remarkable shape, even the wheels are well preserved.

Dining table from pine bowling lane stock, edged with polished steel band. The steel base was found at Alameda several months ago.

Coffee table with small steel I beams as legs. The top is maple bowling lane stock, trimmed out with Honduras Mahogany salvaged from antique dining table. Nice mix of industrial and repurposed wood.

Vintage farmhouse table base, distressed, with pine bowling lane stock added as top. Nice apt. size dining table.

Here is a pair of very simple end tables, the industrial polished steel bases are likely old sink stands. Tops are pine bowling lane stock.  

This chimney cabinet has door made from victorian 4 panel entry door, sawn in half. Very unusual glass half panel. Eclectic mix of antique cast iron and brass hardware, and a beautiful faceted spherical crystal door knob. The trim at the top was arranged from a vintage spoon carved cherry mirror surround I deconstructed.

Found the base of this table at Sacto flea, a wonderful vintage Pepsi cooler. The cast iron wheels were salvaged from an old industrial floor dolly, top is bowling lane stock. This table and cart below are currently being shown at Zonal interiors in Hayes Valley, SF.

Another kitchen island from green industrial carts purchased at Alameda a few months ago. Top is Maple bowling lane stock.

Custom vanity and mirror. The top of this vanity is rough sawn doug fir salvaged from deconstructed feed warehouse in petaluma. The grey colored faceframe boards are from the Ross Mansion.

Kitchen Island on wheels. Industrial cart found at local salvage yard, top is pine bowling lane material with teak banding strip, trimmed with white oak salvaged from 100 yr old bed rails. Shelves are also of pine lane stock.

This table above is mounted on steel frame, same as table in previous post. This one finished with walnut danish oil, varnish. This table is 7'-6", other table is 7' even.

Another table, this one with a very beefy industrial look. I beam legs salvaged from old factory overhead crane track. Top is maple bowling lane stock, with black walnut directional arrows. Walnut danish oil finish, 6' in length.

Double door cabinet with antique shutter doors. Eastlake cast iron cabinet latches, decoritive embellishment salvaged from victorian mirror surround.

New inventory, Alameda show is this Sunday, 7/1

Here are photos of new pieces available on Sunday, 7/1, at Alameda Antique Fair. We will be in our usual spots, booth #'s N-15,2.

First set of photos are of large squarish coffee table. Vintage metal base was originally US Postal service sorting table, found at Sacto Flea. Top is section of maple bowling alley lane.

Benches, Pine bowling lane tops, rough sawn doug fir bases. There are two of these.

The blue base cabinet here was found in Petaluma at salvage yard. I added cast iron wheels, top of maple and pine bowling lane material.

Jelly cabinet made from vintage leaded glass window from my Kansas picker, beadboard I pulled from a Noe Valley victorian remodel.

Here are a couple of very colorful beachy console tables. I considered putting the sign on an end table....:)

I bought this industrial cart at the sacto flea last month. LOVE the green, nicely patinated. Shelf is pine, top is maple, treated with food grade butcher block oil/wax, perfect ht. for kitchen island.

Small coffee table, vintage steel base.

Here are some photos of pieces recently created using bowling lane wood recently salvaged from historic Serra Bowl in Daly City. I purchased 41 lanes, ALOT of material! The first photo illustrates how the material looks before we refinished it. It is Rock Maple, and Georgia Yellow Pine. In the maple slabs you can see the Black Walnut inset directional arrows. This material makes wonderful table tops, counters, bars, etc. Second photo is a pair of benches made from the pine, I used some very ornate cast iron bases, polished and laquered. Next up is an island created from vintage steel industrial rolling cart. Below that is a photo of a couple of coffee tables made from the pine mounted on vintage steel stacking storage shelves. The next photo is an island/work table using on of the maple slabs as a top. The base was an old industrial steel  table frame, I also added a shelf made from vintage pine top. Next up is photo of small table using an antique farmhouse table base. This is at dining table ht. Finally, small console or computer desk with pine top, interesting wrought iron base, polished and laquered.

Here are a couple of available cabinets. The first cabinet shown here created to fit onto very cool antique french metal base. I made a shelf to fit into the base. The cabinet has a beautiful diamond pane leaded glass door I made from glass panel I purchased from a Marin County antique dealer, not sure where from. Very nice hardware on both of these. The pull on the first cabinet is  an antique victorian door bell handle. The tall cabinet below was a builtin salvaged from SF victorian. I added grey beadboard to the sides, feet, crown moulding, etc. I also made new doors for this piece. Leaded glass door above is very cool, original to the piece. I also added some very nice eastlake cast iron hardware, and painted the originally very dark interior white to brighten it up. Finally, a mirror was added to the back of the center section. A quite beautiful stand alone cabinet now.

Here are several photos of a couple of pieces created for new store in Noe Valley. The one in front is a cash wrap made from an old buffet/builtin. I added the shelves, balusters, etc. onto the back of the cabinet, to create a area to display product and conduct sales. The top is made from roughsawn dougfir timbers, laminated together to create a onepiece workspace. Very rustic and textural. The back of the piece where the salesperson stands is the front of the original built-in with all the drawers and doors, lots of storage for the business. The piece behind this up against the wall is a worktable, will be covered with a glass top. The top is created from an old door salvaged from civil war era brick building in ST. Louis, Mo.
