Feb 2013 Selection of new pieces, some examples of recent custom pieces

Since we cancelled our appearance at the Jan. Alameda show there is much much more to be shown at the Feb. Alameda show this Sunday. The selection shown here in this post is of but a few new pieces. Jan. post is below this one. Also, I will be posting in the next couple months photos of raw material purchases. Many people have asked for this, I will show before and after photos. Finally, this month marks the launch of my ETSY store, an online resource for artisans to sell their work direct to the retail public.

Here are a couple photos of recent custom pieces. First photo is of a large door designed to operate on large barn door sliders. Material is repurposed old growth doug fir, natural finish.
This table made from slab of maple bowling alley. I beam polished steel legs, cherry wood trim.
Desk made from vintage work cart from SF electrical motor rebuilding shop. Top is from an old door, tongue and groove 1x6.

Very nice vintage wicker console, new top using multi-colored strips of repurposed wood.
Simmons steel vanity, polished and laquered. Original brass knobs.

Wine cart, built from another work cart from the SF motor shop. Top is maple, original work surface with wonderful patina, refinished.
Another wine cabinet. The steel frame and gear mechanism were part of an antique rope measuring display cabinet from a hardware store.
Massive hutch. Crest was put together with antique architectural elements. Leaded glass doors were found at Urban Ore. Custom piece was collaboration of myself, client and a designer.
Industrial multi-drawer unit.
